LED VIRUS 11 – 16.8.2009 Skyway ‘09 Festival Urban Territory Perimeter Torun . Poland [MOOV + Miguel Faro] (ENG) A LED throwie is a small LED attached to a coin battery and a rare earth magnet with conventional tape. The idea – free license – was developed in 2006 by the experimental organization Graffiti Research Lab and it was supported by a very simple and do-it-yourself technology.To Torun, the idea was to explore this simplicity of means and to create an invasive action in the public space using the LED Trowies and the population as disseminating agents. During the festival they were produced hundreds of Throwies every day, then distributed at night to the passers-by. Having the small light object, people were challenged to find metal surfaces to attach the Throwies. New light points added to the urban fabric each night, new places founded, more the virus spread out… (PT) LED throwie é um pequeno led ligado a uma bateria e a um íman com uma convencional fita adesiva. A ideia – de uso livre - foi desenvolvida em 2006 pela Grafitti Research Lab e apoia-se em elementos tecnológicos bastante simples e ao alcance de qualquer pessoa.Para Torun, pretendeu-se explorar esta simplicidade de meios e foi pensada uma acção invasiva do espaço público utilizando LED throwies e a população como agente disseminador. Ao longo do festival foram produzidos centenas de Throwies durante o dia que eram, depois, distribuídos à noite aos transeuntes. De posse do pequeno objecto de luz, as pessoas eram convidadas a descobrir superfícies metálicas onde os pudessem fixar.
